Dans les rapports d’activité annuel du S.A.E., Gaston Maspero indique que le déménagement des collections du musée de Giza vers Kasr el-Nil, débute dès la fin 1901, le chantier de peinture au rez-de-chaussée est entamé e 1903 et il est achevé en 1904. Aussi, cette photographie a été prise entre 1902 et le courant 1903, car sur celle-ci les collections sont déjà installées mais les murs ne sont pas encore peints.</text>
